About

Lynn Worthington - Lynns Art Gallery

I spent my youth – in the swinging 60′s – growing up in Lytham St-Annes / Blackpool, where big names topped the bill. In those days Cilla Black, Cliff Richards, Morecombe & Wise were just a few of the many acts. I ‘escaped’ school at the age of 15, and had numerous jobs, none of which I enjoyed. I became a dog beautician, an exotic dancer, a tomato picker and many other things. I worked as a dental nurse and spent a lot of my time caricaturing the patients, much to the dentists’ amusement.

I finally discovered my destiny as an artist – working as a caricature artist, entertaining at large corporate events. It was very demanding and involved a lot of travel. I really enjoyed the work and caricatured many well known celebrities.

I now live in Devon working as a professional artist. I am completely self-taught and after many years of painting, I have developed my own style; I include a ‘naughty’ sense of humour in all my work. My style is unique and seems to appeal to a wide audience. The artists who have influenced me the most have got to be Donald McGill and Beryl Cook – both have that same ‘naughty’ sense of humour.
